Good Omens 5th Anniversary Player Survey (Results)
One of our goals for this year was to solicit feedback from our players. We created this survey to get some ideas about what Good Omens players want in their convention games. We gave this survey out to players at most of our Good Omens convention games this year, and processed any survey returned to us. Of course, these results come from GO players, which means they are not necessarily representative of the whole convention-going population. This also represents the players interested in providing feedback, since the survey was completely optional. Nevertheless, the results are here for the enlightenment of anyone who is interested.
We received 101 completed surveys, which means that the % numbers noted below are also the number of people giving each response.

These are interesting results. I’ve already asked Sean, but I’m curious to know from the rest of the Good Omens crew, how do these results compare to what you thought you’d see?

I didn’t really try to predict the results, personally. I wrote the survey attempting to provide every answer option that would be distinct and useful enough for us to learn something.
There were a few things that made me go “hmm” after looking at the results:
* KublaCon has almost “caught up” to DunDraCon in popularity (among GO players, at least).
* Sci-Fi games are more popular than lots of other genres, yet GO doesn’t run very much Sci-Fi (yet!).
Actually, the rest is rather unsurprising, but still useful. For example, I now know that I can run a setting based on a popular book and it has as good a chance of attracting players as a setting based on a movie or TV show.
